Social Awareness:

A Digital Guide to Being Smooth IRL

How to use this guide

Social awareness is a vital skill that helps us to get along with others. When we are socially aware, it becomes easier to make friends, keep friends, and expand our experiences. When we show empathy and compassion towards others, they want to be around us. School is smoother, work is smoother, our relationships are smoother. WE are smoother.

Social awareness is also essential to workforce success. According to Transforming Education, "One recent employer survey conducted by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills demonstrates that four of the five most important skills for high school graduates entering the work force are linked to social awareness: professionalism, collaboration, communication, and social responsibility" (LaRocca, 2017).
